It's a New year and I'm reflecting on my brand. Not sure I like that word, but can't think of another ... identity maybe?
I’ve always suspected that my brand is so much more about feeling than about the images themselves. They simply serve as an expression of a language I seem to have no words for. And I often have no process, except a deep compulsion to make real the images or words in my head, framing intuitively as I go along. And sometimes it’s only in editing that I realize what it is I’m wanting to say.
What might it mean then that the first two images edited this year are these two I've named; 'the future be she'
What of the vulnerability revealed in her posture, the raw simplicity and transparency of her garment repeated often in my images ... juxtapositioning the futuristic head gear and arm strapping, suggesting a warrior strength.
But the bird she's handling ... is the gentle dove of peace.
